For a small country, Scotland has punched way above its weight in many spheres such as philosophy, culture and inventions. Another one can now be added to that list - space.
By 2030, the Scottish government estimates that the space industry could be generating up to £4 billion for the Scottish economy and be employing 20,000 people. It could eventually make up 10% of Scotland’s economy. But how did we get here and what does it all mean for Scotland, the world and humanity?
Presenter Mairi Rodgers meets some of the extraordinary characters that have made this happen and visits communities which are at the heart of the Scottish space industry, taking the viewer on an exciting, informative and compelling journey. Mairi will learn about and see for herself what it takes to get rockets into space in Scotland, something which in a few short years will be a regular occurrence in various sites across the country.
